What's Happening Now
We have now arrived at the end of our project. We learned much about trout, water quality, watersheds, chemicals found in water supplies, and much, much more. We were able to successfully raise trout. Through this project we gained many useful life skills including resume writing, and presenting information. We wrote research papers about different pollutants and other aspects of watersheds. The 3D team has worked on designing and building working a submersible. The 3rd, 8th, and 11th grade teams have taught the respective grades about aspects of a healthy watershed and other information about trout. The website team worked on keeping the website updated. The tank team monitored the trout tanks and compiled the data from the water samples they collected every other day. We also took three field trips, one to The Elfin Forest, one to The San Dieguito Lagoon, and at the end of the project all four grades went to Lake Miramar to release the trout. Across all four grades we successfully raised over 100 trout. Through this project we learned quite a lot about watersheds and the wildlife that lives in them. We would like to thank all of our donors and parents that drove on our field trips. The generous donations we received made this project possible.
