Today I got the chance to interview some 10th graders about their experiments. One group is testing the water quality with two different plants. These two different plants are floating Duckweed and submerged Stargrass. Using these two plants, this group will calculate which plant affects the water quality; they will compare end results.
"One challenge that we can face is having the plants." - Piper, group member Another group was testing different factors. One group member was testing factors that aid in trout mortality and the other group member was testing the animals carbon footprint to see how it affects the ammonia levels. They will be comparing a controlled environment with a natural environment to see how things can vary. "We haven't necessarily setup our experiment because one challenged that we have faced was finding the necessary materials." Rachna, group member

We have setup three tanks here on campus. There is one in a fifth grade classroom and two at the high-school; one in the biology room and the other in the chemistry room. Currently our tank team has been measuring the different levels of chemicals in the tanks.
